Terms and Conditions

Updated Policies as of January 2024 - Please review these terms before booking

The online booking service does not guarantee that you will receive a spot for that date/time. You will be contacted by email or phone with a confirmation.

Important: By booking our services either online or over the phone, you are accepting all terms and conditions outlined here. Please take a moment to review before making your booking.

Standard Package

Offers a recurring cleaning service with the flexibility to reserve specific dates in advance, subject to availability. This package allows clients to request a set cleaner, ensuring consistent service quality. It is priced with a built-in discount compared to our one-time cleaning service.

Flexible Scheduling for Greater Savings

For recurring packages, clients who are flexible on dates and times may be eligible for greater savings. The more flexibility you can offer with scheduling, the more we can pass cost savings on to you while maintaining our high-quality service standards.

General Terms: All recurring packages provide a built-in discount relative to the one-time cleaning service. Clients have access to affordable and flexible cleaning solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Review at Completion: Upon completion of cleaning services, the client agrees to promptly review the cleaning work while the cleaning team is present.
  • First-Time Service Review: Special emphasis is placed on the first cleaning service. The client is encouraged to ensure all areas meet their standards.
  • Immediate Feedback: Any areas requiring additional attention must be identified and communicated to the cleaning team before they leave the premises.
  • Post-Service Agreement: Once the cleaning team departs, the service will be considered satisfactorily completed.

Billing and Pricing

  • Hourly Billing Structure: All cleaning services are billed hourly. You are charged based on the actual time spent cleaning, with a minimum time required depending on your service type or plan.
  • Estimated Minimum Time (Length): The "Length" listed in your booking confirmation represents the estimated minimum time required to complete your cleaning. This is the minimum amount you will be billed for.
  • Transparent Costs: Divide the total service charge by the estimated time ("Length") to understand your hourly rate.
  • Flexibility: Actual cleaning time may exceed the minimum estimate based on your home's condition and priorities.
  • No Fixed Pricing: We do not offer flat-rate or bundled packages. All services are billed based on time worked to ensure fairness and quality.

Onsite Estimate

For a rough quote, we suggest submitting photos. However, walking through the home with our cleaning team on the day of service provides the most accurate and tailored estimate.

Time Estimates

Data-Driven Accuracy: Our time estimates are based on data from 3,000+ cleanings, Artificial Intelligence analysis of task complexity, and expert consultation from professional cleaners.

Note: Estimates are not capped - they reflect the minimum billable time and are not a fixed price. Factors that may extend cleaning times include detailed baseboard or blind cleaning, tile/grout scrubbing, mold removal, windows, appliances, heavy buildup, or irregular layouts.

Discretionary Compensated Time

We may choose to comp up to 10 minutes of cleaning time at our sole discretion:

  • First-Time Cleanings: First-time clients may receive up to 10 minutes of additional cleaning time without charge.
  • Frequent Clients: Clients who have received over 10 cleanings may be eligible for up to 10 minutes of discretionary compensated time.

Limitation: The total amount of compensated time will not exceed 15 minutes per cleaning session.

Reserved Minimum Time Billing

Post-construction cleaning services operate on a reserved minimum time basis. When you see "Reserved" in your plan title, this indicates the minimum time commitment established during our initial assessment.

Key Point: You will be billed for the full reserved time slot, even if the actual cleaning is completed in less time. If additional time is required beyond the reserved minimum, billing will be calculated based on actual time used.

Exclusive Time Slot Reservation

During your reserved time slot, our cleaning staff is exclusively dedicated to your post-construction project. This reservation system ensures:

  • No other cleaning appointments can be scheduled with our staff during your reserved time
  • Our team is fully committed to your post-construction cleaning project
  • Quality assurance through undivided attention and focus

Clients are entitled to one complimentary rescheduling per booking, depending on their package. Rescheduling must be done at least 48 hours before the appointment.

Additional Fees: Rescheduling requests made after 6 PM Eastern Time the day before the cleaning will incur a $30 fee. Availability of preferred cleaners for rescheduled appointments cannot be guaranteed.

Your appointment slot is reserved exclusively for you. Last-minute cancellations not only prevent us from booking another customer but also impact the livelihoods of our team and the survival of our small business.

Cancellation Fees

  • Less Than 48 Hours' Notice: 65% of the cleaning charge will be applied to offset the lost opportunity to rebook your slot.
  • Less Than 24 Hours' Notice: Up to 80% of the cleaning charge may apply. These situations are reviewed individually.
  • While Team Is On-Site: $50-$100 fee will be charged to account for travel and time already committed.
  • Recurring Booking Cancellations After Second Appointment: Billing at a one-time cleaning rate of $204.99, with adjustments based on your service plan.
As a local family-owned business, these policies help ensure we can continue to provide excellent service to all our clients while supporting the team members who make it possible.

We distinguish between normal cleaning activities and heavy cleaning, which includes both the physical tasks required and specialized products needed.

Heavy Cleaning Charges

For packages that do not include heavy cleaning, an additional $50 to $100 per cleaner may be charged depending on the situation and extent of heavy cleaning required.

Undisclosed Heavy Cleaning: Higher fees may apply when heavy cleaning conditions are discovered on-site without prior disclosure.

Heavy Cleaning Activities Include

  • Refrigerators: Removing stuck-on food, deep cleaning interiors with significant spills, scraping hardened food, addressing persistent odors
  • Tile and Grout: Scrubbing or steaming to remove grime, stains, mold, or mildew
  • Living Rooms: Intensive cleaning of tiled or hardwood floors, removing stubborn adhesive, gum, or buildup
  • Bathrooms: Tackling soap scum, hard water stains, mold, mildew, and significant buildup
Important: Some situations have limits. Extensive mold growth, heavy soap scum, deep staining, or years of neglected buildup may not be fully restored in one session and could require multiple visits or specialized equipment.

While our Cleaner Care Adjustment Policy covers many common cleaning challenges, certain areas may require extra attention beyond what is typically expected.

$50 Gratuity Per Cleaner Applies When:
  • Areas need significant extra care (heavy grime buildup, mold/mildew, soap scum, stubborn stains)
  • Appointment extends beyond 2 hours due to heavy cleaning

This fee reflects the additional time, specialized products, and effort required to bring these areas to our high standards. This policy applies regardless of prior notice.

We do not provide laundry services as part of our standard cleaning packages. However, laundry services may be offered under specific conditions:

Minimum Booking Requirement

Laundry services are only available to clients who book more than one cleaning appointment per month.

Important: The client assumes full responsibility for any issues arising from the laundering process, including but not limited to damage, shrinkage, discoloration, or inefficiencies. Our insurance does not cover any damages or losses related to laundry services.

The official start time for all cleaning services is based on the appointment time confirmed at booking. However, actual billing begins only once the assigned cleaner has clocked in upon arrival at your property.

Billable Items

Waiting time, coordination, and logistical efforts required for service commencement are all considered billable items.

Access to Property

If a client is unavailable to provide immediate access, our cleaner will make reasonable efforts to wait, allowing up to 10-30 minutes for client communication. If still unable to access the property after this period, the booking may be canceled, and a cancellation fee may apply.

Standard, Deep, and Move-Out Cleanings

We normally send one cleaner per job. However, for spaces larger than 2,500 sq ft or for major dust situations, we will require sending two cleaners.

Maid Service

We typically send one cleaner per job regardless of the size of your home. However, if you require two cleaners for the maid service, we can arrange this for an additional fee of double the standard rate.

We reserve the right to deny or terminate service in the event of:

  • Safety concerns
  • Inappropriate or uncomfortable situations
  • Weapons on-premises
  • Severe clutter
  • Disconnected utilities
  • Sanitary or unsafe conditions

We DO NOT Clean:

  • Bio-hazards (mold, blood, bodily fluids)
  • Cat litter boxes and floors
  • Insects and rodents
  • Couches and leather surfaces
  • Heavy exterior window cleaning
  • Animal waste cleanup
  • Interior walls
  • Rust removal/cleaning
  • Industrial cleaning
  • Heavy lifting
  • High ceiling fan cleaning (must be requested during booking)
  • Clutter or hoarding cleanup
  • Chandeliers and glass lamps
  • TVs and computers

These services are available for an extra charge:

  • Wash dishes
  • Clean inside fridge
  • Clean inside oven
  • Clean inside kitchen cabinets
  • Interior window clean
  • Hand detail blinds
  • Hand detail baseboards
  • Sweep inside the garage or balcony
  • Diamond Detailing
  • Detailed tub scrub

Taking a few minutes to tidy up will enable the cleaners to easily access the areas/surfaces to be cleaned, such as floors, counters, tabletops, etc.

Important: The price for cleaning is based on the cleaners focusing all of their time on cleaning. Please call the office in advance if you would like our cleaners to do tidying tasks on your behalf so that your cleaning fee can be adjusted accordingly.

Prior to the arrival of our cleaner, we kindly ask that all clutter be removed from the areas that will be cleaned. Additional fees may be charged if the cleaning team takes a long time to tidy up.

We will gladly work around pets, but we must limit indoor activity in order to maintain cleaning efficiency and safety.

Safety First: If your pet becomes anxious or presents a safety threat, we reserve the right to remove our personnel from the premises. It is our policy not to enter a house if we believe an animal is a threat. Pets may behave differently without family members present.

If our cleaning technician is removed for aggressive animals, our cancellation policy will apply.

For the safety and well-being of our cleaning personnel, we reserve the right to reschedule any cleaning appointments that go over 6 PM Eastern time or that require additional time beyond the initial estimate.

Note: We reserve the right to charge a fee for any appointments that are rescheduled due to safety concerns or additional time required beyond the initial estimate. We also reserve the right to cancel any appointments that pose a risk to our staff.

Payments must be made by credit card.

A card hold will be placed on the account at the time of booking to prevent fraud or insufficient funds, and the final charge will be processed upon completion of the cleaning services at the designated location.

Note: We only accept card payments for booking at this time. Unfortunately, checks are not accepted.

Ensuring your satisfaction is our foremost goal. After our cleaning technicians complete their work, we conduct a thorough walkthrough with you to make sure all your expectations are met.

Addressing Concerns

If you have any concerns, especially regarding our checklist-based deep cleaning services, we encourage you to consult directly with the cleaning team member on-site or contact our office. Prompt communication is key to addressing and resolving any issues to your satisfaction.

Hourly Cleaning Services

Our hourly cleaning services are sold as-is and are customized based on the specific cleaning checklist you provide over the phone and onsite.

Affordable Cleaning Today may take photos of your property before and after cleaning for marketing purposes.

Opt-Out Available: If you prefer to opt out, please let us know, and we will respect your wishes.

Consent to Receive Communications

By signing up for our cleaning services, you agree to receive text messages and phone calls from us. These communications may include appointment confirmations, reminders, special offers, and other important information related to our services.

Opting Out

  • SMS Messages: Reply "STOP" to any text message to opt out.
  • Phone Calls: Contact our customer service team or reply "STOP" to any text and specify you wish to opt out of phone calls.
  • Assistance: Reply "HELP" to any text message or contact our customer service team.

Privacy: Your privacy is important to us. We will not share or use your mobile number for any purpose other than for communications related to our services.

Membership perks and benefits are exclusive to members and cannot be transferred or shared with other individuals.

  • Discounts apply to regularly priced items only and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions
  • Booking priority is subject to availability and is not a guarantee of availability at any specific time or date
  • Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their membership status and any associated privileges
  • Any misuse or abuse of membership privileges may result in immediate termination of membership status
Modifications: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate membership perks and benefits at any time without prior notice.
  • Scope: All disputes related to services will be resolved exclusively through arbitration.
  • Waiver of Jury Trial: Clients waive their right to a court trial, including class actions.
  • Process: Disputes will be resolved by a neutral arbitrator under AAA rules, with decisions being final.
  • Confidentiality: Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality of arbitration proceedings.
  • Costs: Arbitration costs will be shared unless otherwise determined by the arbitrator.
  • Limitation: Arbitrators cannot award damages beyond actual losses unless required by law.
  • Modification: Terms may be updated, and continued service use constitutes acceptance.
This agreement ensures a balanced, efficient resolution mechanism for all parties.

Booking Confirmation

We will work with you to pick a date that fits your schedule, as outlined in your contract.

Service Scope

Our commercial cleaning includes janitorial services, deep cleaning, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, sanitization, and more, as per the agreement.

Payments

  • 3% fee will be applied for credit card payments
  • 1% transaction fee for ACH payments

Compliance

All services will be rendered in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

By utilizing Affordable Cleaning Today's services, you agree to the terms outlined in our policies, including the Binding Arbitration Agreement. Continued use constitutes acceptance of these terms and any future updates.

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new terms on our website and updating the date at the top of this policy.
